Aberdeen (Hybrid) | Full-time, Permanent | Market-leading Salary + Excellent Benefits

Are you a hands-on Management Accountant who enjoys owning the full finance function?

Do you want to be part of a small, growing technology business where your work genuinely shapes decisions and supports growth?

What’s here for you?

DDK Positioning is a specialist technology company delivering innovative positioning and navigation solutions to the oil & gas and space sectors. We work with high-profile partners and operate with a compact, agile team where everyone has visibility and influence.

This is an opportunity to join a small but ambitious business at a key stage of its growth. As our Management Accountant, you won’t be tucked away in a large finance team – you’ll work closely with multiple departments in the business, as well as working directly with the CEO, Finance Director, and Operations Director, and playing a central role in how DDK plans, invests, and scales.

What’s the role?

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Aberdeen, with hybrid working (2–3 days per week in the office). The position holds responsibility for the complete financial operations of the business. You’ll take ownership of management accounts, forecasting, statutory reporting, and day-to-day finance operations, while supervising the Bookkeeper. This is not a pure compliance role – you’ll be expected to provide meaningful financial insight, support scenario modelling, and help identify opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiencies as the business grows.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial reporting
  • Preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Producing financial reports for senior management, the Board, and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with annual statutory accounts in collaboration with external accountants
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Managing Companies House administration
  • Financial operations & control
  • Overseeing customer invoicing and managing debtors
  • Managing monthly payment runs, payroll, and P11D reporting
  • Submitting quarterly VAT returns via Xero
  • Maintaining the Xero trial balance and strong internal controls
  • Identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies and process improvements
  • Forecasting, analysis & collaboration
  • Maintaining and enhancing financial forecasting and cash-flow models
  • Supporting scenario modelling for strategic decision-making
  • Updating dashboards covering KPIs and financial performance
  • Supervising and supporting the Bookkeeper
  • Acting as the primary finance contact across the business, communicating clearly with non-finance stakeholders

Who are we looking for?

You’ll be motivated by working in a small, fast-moving environment where you’re trusted to take ownership and manage priorities independently. Previous experience working in a small/medium sized business would be preferable, but if you’re working in a large corporate and you want to work in something more dynamic, we’d welcome that conversation too.

Essential experience and skills:

  • Relevant accounting qualification (or working towards one: MA, CA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong management accounting and operational finance experience
  • Proficiency with Xero and strong Excel skills
  • Experience managing day-to-day finance in a small to medium-sized business
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
  • Confident communicator able to work closely with non-finance stakeholders

 Desirable experience:

  • Technology, software, or development-led business background
  • Exposure to global operations or funding organisations
  • Financial modelling and scenario planning experience
  • Experience supporting investment or funding activity
